StoryFrame — Connecting With Content

Content and Connecting

Content and Connecting

Content is what we make. Connecting is what gives it a reason to exist.

Every day brings more video, audio, photographs, articles, and updates. Production has become easier and publishing is nearly immediate. The challenge is no longer simply making something and putting it online. The challenge is creating a meaningful connection between the material and the people it is meant to reach.

That connection is shaped by the format, the screen, the context, the timing, and the choice the audience makes to pay attention.

Content without connection is only another file on a server.

The Audience Is Everywhere

There is no longer one screen, one channel, or one predictable path to an audience.

A person may discover something on a phone, continue with it on a tablet, and finish on a television or desktop computer. Sometimes the material arrives through search. Sometimes it comes through a feed, an email, a recommendation, or a direct subscription.

The work has to survive that movement without losing its purpose. Format and distribution are not decisions made after the content is finished. They are part of the content.

Technology Is Part of the Frame

Technology should not become the story, but it always changes how the story can be experienced.

Responsive layouts, HTML5 video, mobile applications, podcast subscriptions, social platforms, and connected televisions each create different possibilities and different constraints. The useful question is not which tool is newest. It is which tool creates the right connection for this material and this audience.

The best technology can disappear into the experience. It removes friction, gives the content room, and lets the audience decide how deeply to engage.

Connecting With Content

A new mark for a broader view of media.

StoryFrame began with video on the web. Today the frame includes many screens, fragmented audiences, and an active public that responds, remixes, recommends, and publishes.

The new StoryFrame identity reflects that change. The logo says Connecting With Content. The idea guiding the work is Content and Connecting: understanding both what is being presented and how it reaches people.
